In a previous post I talked about how to acid wash tile. One of the problems with this is ventilation, as you are working with acid. It works great, but it's a bit of a hazard to use.

I've finally found a grout cleaner that delivers with a fresh scent and works without the danger of using acid. It takes a little elbow grease, but if you couple it with a great grout brush I found, you can have a safer method to gain clean grout.

The cleaner is Black Diamond Ultimate Grout Cleaner. You spray it on and wait 1-3 minutes (I found 3-5 was better). Then I used the Fuller Brush Tile Grout E-Z Scrubber brush. It is a stand-up, long handled grout brush. No need to get on your hands and knees which was a plus for me.

The cleaner was about $10 on Amazon and the brush was $22. The grout cleaner will clean a 10x12 room or so depending on your grime level.
